Go on a Quest with Google Maps

The amount of detail is quite impressive, with everything from icy tundra, to rocky mountains and dense green forests represented in 8-bit (or 16-bit?) splendor.

My only problem with the whole thing is that you cannot zoom down enough to see houses, though I guess it would be a lot of work to include such detail.  Some cities, like New York or Philadelphia for example, show up as castles and groups of houses on the map, but that’s the extent of it.

Maybe I’m being selfish and asking too much.  Still, I can’t help but wonder what my neighbourhood would look like where it a RPG map, buildings and all…

*UPDATE*

Looks like I spoke too soon!  As you can see from the image below, some famous monuments and buildings are being Questified, you just have to look and find them.  The image below is of the Biosphere in Montreal, though I’ve also found the Statue of Liberty, the White House and Washington Monument, and even Alcatraz.
